I can't believe the 4th of July is going to be here in four days! Unfortunetley all around me in Colorado fireworks have been banned due to the fire hazard :( But that doesn't mean we can't still celebrate. Miss Martha Stewart has these on her website. I think they are pretty festive!
And this is just awesome if you have lots of people coming over (and lots of time on your hands!). At Twig & Thistle go download and print these diy beauties out.

Dry Idea AdvancedDry Review and Giveaway
Moving to Denver I really didn't think the summer would be that bad. Coming from the super dry, oven like heat of Phoenix and the life sucking humidity of Louisiana I thought summer would be a piece of cake. I was a sort of wrong. It has been unusually hot in Colorado. We are on day 4 of a record breaking streak. Yay! Add to that the broken A/C unit and the fact that I'm 32 weeks pregnant! Yeah I'm sweating!
Just in time for this misery I got to try Dry Idea AdvancedDry roll-on in powder fresh. I normally don't use roll-ons and I actually liked it. It seemed a little less messy than my usual solid deodorant and it dried really fast. The powder fresh scent is not my favorite. It's such a deodorant type smell.
So did it work? It really did and very well. I was fresh and dry all day. The protection is supposed to last for 24 hours and I think it lived up to that. I sneaked a whiff of my underarms throughout the day and no odor and hardly any sweating! My armpits even felt soft! I think that's due to the added vitamin E.
Dry Idea is holding a sweepstakes with $1000 in prizes! $500 1st place prize and 10 $50 2nd place prizes. Entering the sweepstakes is in my rafflecopter form but if you would rather not do that you can go through this link.
Now, onto my giveaway. I am giving away 2 coupons for Dry Idea Advanced Dry to 2 readers.
Must be a U.S. resident.
Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Dry Roll-on so I could review them. However, all of the opinions expressed here are my own.

I don't know if I really "welcome" summer but I like the colors of this printable. Go here and print it out and keep cool.

The Trials of Dying an Ikea Couch Cover
We have an Ikea ektorp sofa with a sage green slipcover (well not anymore). The slipcover has seen better days. After going to Ikea to see about a new slipcover and seeing that the color we want was $300 (!!!) my husband had the brilliant idea to buy the cheap ($100) white slipcover and dying it brown. O.K. in theory this sounds like a fantastic idea but in reality the cover is huge and I envisioned it turning into a tie-dyed looking hippie nightmare.
We went to Michael's and bought 10 of the powdered Rit Dye
in Chocolate Brown and Dark Brown. We mixed them up in a big jug with hot water and added salt per the directions. Apparently the salt helps the dye stick to the fabric. Everything is in order and we sneak into the big laundromat to do the load in the giant washing machine.
My dear, dear husband starts pouring the dye into the washer. The washer hasn't been turned on yet and I can see that the dye is just disappearing into the washer somewhere. He seems to be confident and what he's doing so I let him be and go play video games with my son. A few minutes later hubby is running toward me and freaking out. All of the dye went down the drain. We needed to run back to the store and get more dye. Hurray.
After making more dye water we go back and put it through the top of the washer where it's supposed to go. Everything looks good and brown. We take it out to dry. It looks red. Like rusty red. Yuck.
The next day hubby is determined to make it work. We go to JoAnn's this time and buy a different brand of dye
. We buy dark brown this time. We do the whole thing again. Somehow one of the cushion covers got left at home. :/ God help us. Only very smart people should attempt to dye something so large. I try to dye the cover at home in our washer. It comes out black. I wash it with some bleach and it looks a little better but still too dark compared to everything else. Hubby is going to have a nervous breakdown.
We go get more dye
. Some black and brown. He thinks if we make it darker everything will match. Sure. All the covers are accounted for and off the the laundromat again. Somehow it worked! The one cover we forgot is a little bit off but you can hardly tell. The color came out a dark chocolate brown which is exactly what we wanted.
I don't know why we had so much trouble with this. Thank goodness it turned out in the end. If you do things the right way first this would be totally worth it!

My Honest Company Order - Free Diapers & Home Essentials
Dang. This offer is over. That was fast!
Just wanted to let you know this deal from The Honest Company is legit! This is my order. I ordered the diaper trial and the home essentials trial for only $4.95. I didn't mean to order newborn size diapers though! If this baby is anything like my first he will not fit into them! Maybe it's a good sign that he'll be a "normal" size!
After you receive your products be sure to cancel your membership unless you really like it. They will charge your credit card for the next month if you do not cancel. Apparently they will remind you a couple of times before they do. I'm putting a reminder on my calender just in case!

I heart Colorado
I am pretty much settled into Colorado now. Loving it so much! But I think I said that about Louisiana in the first month I lived there. I'm sure I was in denial and trying to make myself like it. I think it's different this time. It's true love! The weather is perfect, the mountains are beautiful and still have snow on them. Everyone (mostly) is sooo nice! People know how to drive! Everywhere you go people are walking, riding bikes, playing in the parks (so many parks!).
I can see myself living here forever and raising my kids here. I feel that at home. I never felt that in Louisiana.
