Pickles

I made sweet pickles! My husband has been begging me to make his Aunt Myrtle's crystal pickles for years. I finally did and had NO idea what I was doing.

I had to use my scary slicer. I sliced my thumb on it before...Ouch!

After slicing them I soaked them in brine then vinegar and then sugar. This went on for over a week! I seriously hope I did it right.

After all this work all I got was two jars of pickles! I have no idea if they're any good. I'm going to feed some to our dog before we eat them. Just to be safe, haha!

Changes

I have not been blogging much lately. I have a ton of stuff on my mind and I have not been in the mood. :) We have been planning on moving and I think we have narrowed it down to Denver. We had no time line in mind. That is until I found out I was pregnant. A bit of a shock to us. So now we would really like to move before I have the baby which means in about 7 months. Well more like 5 months since moving while being a gigantic whale does not sound appealing. Two cross country moves in two years and a baby. No I'm not stressing out at all!!

Mardi Gras season is here! Two years ago this meant nothing to me but now that I'm living in Louisiana I'm all about it. We got our king cake yesterday and Evan found the baby. He kept asking if he could eat the baby. No son, no you can not eat the baby.
