I had the pleasure to review a fantastic book, The Mommy MD Guide to Your Baby’s First Year. With a six week old this could not have come at a better time.This book is written by 60 doctors who are also mothers and it includes over 900 tips. If you are expecting or know someone who is this is a must get book. It offers real, honest and practical advice from doctors. 

The format of this this book makes it a fun and easy read. The chapters start out by telling you what to expect during the month you are in and then it follows with stories by mommy MD's. They even recommend products that they found useful.  Knowing that even doctors struggle with getting a baby to sleep makes me feel a little better about my own mothering skills.  I also found it revealing that some of the doctors don't follow their own advice. For instance a few of them mentioned that they would never recommend having your baby sleep in your bed with you but they themselves did it out of desperation. I can totally understand! Alex hates his crib and will sleep in it up to one hour but if he is in our bed he will usually sleep 3 hours at a time. I never thought I would let my baby sleep with me but desperate times call for desperate measures! Apparently even doctors feel the same way.
