For my first DIY beauty treatment I will be doing the famous aspirin mask. I heard about this mask a few years ago and have been using it ever since. My husband even uses it when he has a breakout! Making an aspirin mask is a super cheap way to take care of your skin. Aspirin is similar to salicylic acid which is what is used in chemical peels. The mask will make your skin baby soft and should diminish pimples and blackheads.
This is what you will need:
- uncoated aspirin
- small amount of water
- honey, witch hazel, aloe vera, tea tree oil (optional)
Once your aspirin is dissolved it should be pastey. You can then add an extra ingredient to the mask. I like to add honey because it holds the aspirin together and its soothing to the skin.
Now you're ready to put it on! You can use it as a spot treatment on pimples or put it over your entire face. Let it sit until it dries. My husband will leave it on blemishes while he sleeps! I don't really recommend this because it would irritate most skin but it does work well for him.
When your ready to take it off you can gently massage to create a more exfoliating effect. I don't do this because my skin is too sensitive. I use a warm wash cloth and gently take it off. It's kind of a pain to get all of the little aspirin pieces off your face!
This costs pennies to make! I hope it works for you!
