SKOY Earth Friendly Cloth

I rarely buy paper towels and it drives me nuts when I see people pulling three or more paper towels off the roll at a time for a little spill. I just can't justify spending money on something that I will throw out. I use dish cloths for my messes and for cleaning around the house. The dish cloths tend to get pretty gross quickly and they end up smelling bad. Yuck. Also I can't stand sponges they really skeeve me out! Enter the Skoy cloth!

Halloween Then and Now

This was Halloween five years ago! Holy crap time is flying! I had just found out that I was pregnant with Evan and no one knew. My husband and I went to a Halloween party that night and I'm pretty sure I was the only one not drinking. lol.  Life before kids is so different on so many levels. Halloween now is much more fun with a little kid who is soooo excited that he's going to get candy just from knocking on someones door!

Stickers are just awesome. When I was little I had a sticker book and I would put all of my best stickers inside. I'm sure kids don't do that anymore but I bet they still like stickers! How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds

Don't throw out your pumpkin seeds after you gut it! Pumpkin seeds are very nutritious with a high amount of magnesium, iron, zinc and protein! Plus they taste pretty good!

Here is how you roast pumpkin seeds.

Scoop all the seeds out into a colander. Rinse the seeds really well with cool water.

Spread out the seeds onto a baking sheet so they they can dry out. Try to let them dry out completely. This could take up to 24 hours but it will help them roast better when they're not wet. 

After the seeds are all dry get rid of any left over pumpkin guts. 

Preheat oven to 300.

Put pumpkin seeds in a bowl. Melt two teaspoons of butter and pour over seeds and toss. Shake some sea salt on your seeds. You can also put garlic salt or any kind of seasoned salt on them.

Spread your seeds onto the baking sheet again. Make sure they are not on top of each other or they won't get nice and toasty!

Bake them at 300 for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Mine were done at 30 minutes but my oven is weird and cooks everything fast.

So now I just don't know what to do except bang my head against a wall.

Pumpkin Patch

 I put this magic mesh screen door together and up on the patio door. It totally does not work like it's supposed to. Look at this picture. See how happy that lady is and how easily she's going through the screen? NOPE she's a liar. As long as you don't go through it, it works fine.

Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch! It was kind of warm out but the worst part is the sun beating down on you. It is so intense. Even though Phoenix is much hotter the sun didn't feel like it was shooting death rays into your cells.

Evan loved the pumpkin patch and picked out a cute little pumpkin to take home. It was fun but I needed cooler weather to get that fall feeling.

 After that we came home and made Halloween sugar cookies. I let Evan help me with the cookies and it took much longer. By the time the cookies were ready to be frosted I was so over making cookies. I just globbed frosting on. I just wanted to go to bed.  But the cookies are yummy and I'm eating one right now!

Bissell Stomp N' Go Review

First of all let me just say how much I hate white/beige carpet. We moved into a rental house and the landlords put in brand new beige carpet. It looked great but I knew that carpet would be doomed and I was right. You've got to be nuts to have a light colored carpet with a preschooler and dog around! Well every week a new stain magically appears. Sometimes I know what they are and sometimes I have no clue and maybe I'm better off not knowing. 

When I was offered the chance to review Bissell's new Stomp N' Go Stain Lifting Pads I of course jumped at the chance. When I received the pads to try out I was skeptical. They just didn't look like they could do the job. Well I picked a couple of stains out and placed the pad on top and stomped. I made sure to really stomp hard! Then I left the pad on for the entire night just to get the best results.

Here is a piece of carpet I was sent with a nasty grape juice stain.

After leaving the pad on over night the stain is almost totally gone!

I forgot to take a before picture of this stain. I have no idea what it was. It looked like ink. I had already tried to get rid of it with some heavy duty stain remover and it barely did anything. I didn't think the pads would fair much better. After leaving the pad on overnight again I woke up to find the majority of the stain gone! This was the worst stain in my house and now I can barely see it and all I had to do was stomp on a pad!

Overall I am very impressed with the Bissell Stomp N' Go. It's by far the easiest way to clean up a stain. I didn't have to do any scrubbing or even bending down and they actually work very well. You can even use them in the car or on furniture. Next time your at the store pick some up and check them out for yourself!

EdenFantasys - Spice up your Love Life

My 6th anniversary is coming up next week but we have  been together 10 years! It seems crazy to think about it. And after being together so long sometimes you need to help the "spark". I've been thinking of getting something different for my hubby this year. I was browsing the adult shop, EdenFantasys for some ideas. I think I have my anniversary night planned out!

The review is pretty much the make it or break it for me. They also have Eden Cafe which has articles on everything from relationships to sex toy talk. The man in black. I remember when I found out he had died. I cried but I was so grateful that he had lived a long life and had put out so many albums. Even when he knew he was knocking on deaths door he was still recording. On his last songs you can almost hear him saying goodbye. I had the hardest time picking a song. I seriously love them all but this one really gets to me.

A few months ago I learned about Zaycon Foods. They bring fresh meats direct to the consumer at wholesale prices. Their most popular product appears to be boneless, skinless chicken. The chicken has no added hormones, additive or artificial ingredients and has never been frozen.  They are selling this chicken at $1.49 lb.! Yeah pretty great price right? The only catch and the reason why it's so cheap is that they sell in bulk. The chicken comes in a case weighing 40lbs. I know that's a lot of chicken but if you know someone who wants to get in on the deal you can split it! That's what I'm planning to do. They just informed me that my area will be able to order next week.

Zaycon is in every state right now but not every city. I think you have to register here in order to see the list. I really think this is a great value. I do wish it was organic but I'm sure that would be a lot more money!

The Pecan Tree

I have this pecan tree and all day the pecans fall onto my roof. The squirrels go crazy then the dogs go nuts. This has been going on all day for the past two weeks. The good news is that I have a ton of pecans. I just don't know what to do with them. 

Besides looking pretty and giving us pecans the tree also gives us tree roaches and spiky caterpillar's! YAY!

Store Bought Vs. Handmade Soap

I have started to notice that some of the big body companies have started coming out with their own bar soaps with yummy sounding scents and natural sounding ingredients. Sure you can probably get these soaps pretty cheap at the local drug store but do you know what's in it? I was pretty shocked to see all of these ingredients in just one bar! Now most of these ingredients are perfectly safe, so they say. But do we really need MORE chemicals in our lives? We are surrounded by chemicals every day, everywhere we go and I for one am trying to reduce my exposure.  I try to do little, easy things to get away from chemicals. For instance, I don't use dryer sheets with my clothes. It's not dry here and dryer sheets just coat your clothes with wax and fragrance. I also try to use all natural body products. I make my own soap, scrubs and some lotions. It gives me a little peace knowing exactly what I'm putting on myself.
