Little Marvels Super Hero Cape

I have been meaning to write this post for a while. A couple of weeks ago I was thrilled when I found out I had won a Little Marvels super hero cape for my son! When it came it was packaged so nicely and with a cute little note to my super E. The cape is so adorable and well made. I can't sew worth a darn so I was impressed with Michelle's skills. I was also impressed with the fact that she had time to make the cape with 5 little boys around (did I mention she has quadruplets!?). I seriously think she needs to be wearing a super hero cape around because she is a super mom!

Evan loves his cape. He has a great imagination and when he wears it the strangest stories come out. Mostly that he is a super ninja. Or sometimes a more normal magician.

Makin Soap

I finally got around to making some new soap. It's just slightly less humid out and it helps a little bit. I made some lavender vanilla with oats. I'm crossing my fingers that it turns out o.k. Because if it doesn't I'm seriously giving up! I took some pictures to give you an idea of the soap making process.

Got my lye water set

All of my oils are melted

Add the lye water to the oil and mix mix mix

Pour into mold

Growing Up

My little boy has started pre-school. It's all day long, every day so to me it feels like he started kindergarten. I love the free time and of course I love that he gets to learn and be with friends. It is bitter sweet though. He is growing up fast and soon will think I'm very annoying and embarrassing. Which I am. lol

Blueberry Cobbler

I made a blueberry cobbler last night. It was just O.K. Evan didn't even like it. Oh well more for me. Some of the blueberries are really tough so who knows what I did wrong this time. I used up all of the blueberries to make this. We are OUT OF BLUEBERRIES! Aaahhh. No more until next year unless I want to pay out the ass for them!

Mowing is Hard

The Pixies are Insanely Awesome - Friday Song

My taste in music is eclectic to say the least! I like at least something out of every genre of music that is out there. I could probably even find some death metal I like but it might be hard. One of my top 10 bands is The Pixies. I like almost every song they have ever made. I was sooooo happy when they toured a few years ago and I got to see them live!  The Pixies reminds me of life right after high school. Sitting on my best friends front porch, drinking coffee and painting our nails while we listen to Doolittle. I can't believe this record is over 20 years old!

I have had these empty toilet rolls sitting around. I was trying to think of something fun to do with them with E-dawg. Inspiration never came so I tossed them. Then I saw this! Toilet roll art. The creativity of people amazes me. Now I need to start collecting toilet paper rolls again.

Downy Unstopables Review

I received a sample of Downy Unstopables in the Fresh scent. The scent was so strong I could smell it through the packaging it came in. It had a very fresh, fabric softner type scent.
It was time to do a load of laundry and after everything was in I dumped the contents of the package out and let it do its job. After the laundry was done the house was filled with the scent of the Unstopables. Some people might consider this a good thing but it was a bit overwhelming! The scent was way too strong for me and gave me a slight headache.

I went to transfer the clothes to the dryer and little beads of the product started falling everywhere. A good amount never dissolved! My washer was not filled to the brim so I'm not sure why they didn't dissolve. I was very annoyed because now I had to do it all over again! While I was waiting for the laundry I looked at the package and found out that Unstopables are not fabric softener. They are only to give laundry fragrance. Really?! This just doesn't make sense to me. Yes I want my laundry to smell nice but doesn't a fabric softener do that? And at $8 for 13oz it's way too pricey for just nice smelling laundry.
I won't be using this again. The Purex Crystals (my review) are much better in my opinion. They smell great and are a fabric softener. Oh and they are half the price!

At $20 it may be a little steep for some but it may be worth trying if you are having trouble finding a good cleanser.

August

Does anyone like August? August is the lamest month in the year. It is brutally hot and humid. Sooo humid. So many bugs. Really terrible movies come out in August like Spy Kids II. Ugh. Nothing happens in August. No holidays, no days off. 29 more days to go.
