School Lunches Around the World

Take a look at the lunches kids eat in other countries. The asian dishes look pretty good. France and Italy look like something I would pay for. Then you see the U.S.A. And it is sad. Looks just as horrible as when I was a kid. No wonder we have an obesity problem.

Purex Compleate with Zout Review

I received a bottle of Purex Complete with Zout a few weeks ago and never got a chance to try it until this weekend. My dear three year old son decided to turn the couch into an art project. Black pen was all over three of the cushions. To my horror they were pressed in deep. I was certain they would never be completely gone. The only thing I had in the house for stains was the Purex with Zout. I covered all of the pen marks with the detergent and let it sit for 15 minutes. I didn't have much hope that Purex would take out the marks. Maybe fade them but they would still be visible. I was seriously floored when I took out each cover and all of the pen marks were completely gone! I even had an old strawberry stain that was now gone! This stuff is AMAZING! I am soooo happy I don't have to live with a pen covered couch now! This is my new holy grail of detergent.

When you can't afford Diapers

When I was pregnant with Evan I fantasized about having a little baby crawling around in cute cotton diapers. Then I found out just how much that fantasy would cost. Not to mention all the washing I would have to do EVERY DAY! I just couldn't afford the start up costs of cloth diapering. On Cloth Diapers Blog they have some extremely cheap ways to cloth diaper your baby. It's a really great and helpful post.

ipad case

I am putting this onto my to do list. If only I had a sewing machine. Oh wait, I do. I bought this old singer from a garage sale and of course I have no idea how to get it to work. So it just sits and takes up space. Go to The Polka Dot Chair and learn how to make it.

Crab Cake Thursday!

Confession: I don't know if it's Thursday or Friday. I'm pretty sure it's Thursday but I looked at my computer calendar and it says Friday! Is my computer playing an April Fool's joke on me? Am I that out of it? Staying at home makes the days blend into each other. There is no Wednesday meeting or Friday donuts. I am lost all day in Nick Jr., laundry, dogs chewing on toys and trying to keep the mess under control.  One perk about staying at home is that I have more time to cook dinner. I think I'm getting better at it. I actually made crab cakes last night. I never thought I could make something like this but it wasn't that hard. They turned out pretty good! Sadly Evan did not like but hubby did.  O.K. now I really need to figure out what day it is.
