I saw what I thought was an article on CNN about some amazing new beauty product made by M.I.T. graduates. Stupidly I didn't realize it was an ad! Stages of Beauty has a different formulation for each stage of life. I got the harmony stage. They were offering a trial size for $4.95 and it looked like a good product so I decided to try it. What harm is $4.95?
When I got the trial size moisturizer it was a decent size. It went on very nicely and felt great on my skin. Makeup went over it perfectly. I was feeling pretty good about my decision to try it. I really wanted to see if it did anything to my skin so I only used it on one side of my face. Two weeks later there really is no difference in either side. I know they always say wait 4 weeks to see if something works but I think if there is no difference at all in two weeks you pretty much know it's not doing a thing. Oh well it wasn't the miracle I was hoping for! It is a nice moisturizer though. With that said let me talk about the company.
I think it was only two weeks after I ordered the trial that I received a package from Stages of Beauty. I opened the envelope and they were charging me $75!!! Apparently when you sign up for the trial they automatically sign you up for the auto shipping. I did not see this anywhere when I ordered the trial. I didn't even open the package. I just wrote return to sender and sent it on its way. I called the company and told them I wanted my money back. The girl offered to lower the price for me. I just want my money! Who can afford $75 for moisturizer?
It's over a month later and they still haven't credited back my money. They claim they can't tell me if they've received my package or not. "It takes a long time to go through the packages." Since it has taken so long I opened a dispute with my bank and I was told by Stages of Beauty that they can not do anything now. It is between me and my bank. I don't even understand that. This company is very shady. If you have a good product you don't need to scam people into buying it.
